Outreach

Opening up university education to a wider community
Encouraging students from different social and economic backgrounds is a key priority for Southampton’s Student Recruitment and Outreach Team.
The UK’s Student Recruitment and Outreach Team works within the University to forge strong links with the community, schools and colleges as part of its drive to open up university education to people who otherwise would not go on to higher education. Campus tours, open days, taster events, Easter and summer school residentials, visits to schools and colleges, attending careers fairs and giving presentations, are just some of the ways the team is engaging with potential students locally, regionally and nationally.
They also recruit, train and place hundreds of students as ambassadors and associates in the community, education and voluntary sectors.
The Pathways to Law scheme
Pathways to Law students will receive a package of advice and opportunities to enable them to gain access to law degrees and the legal professions.
