For information about joining the club and our beginners course for the new academic year see the Getting Started page
Are you looking for a fun and dynamic martial art to help keep in shape? This website has all the information you should need to find out about the club, and this page provides a summary of how to get started with judo. But if you have any questions do email us at email@example.com
The best way to find out what is involved in Judo is to come along and try it for yourself. Why not come and chat to us at the Bunfight on Wednesday September 26th, or pop along to our taster session at 4pm on Sunday September 30th. But if you can't make either of those times, everyone is welcome to come along and try a session to see if you enjoy Judo. Don't worry if you miss the very first sessions of term, its not unusual and you can catch up very quickly.
All sessions take place in the Martial Arts Suite - you can find this on the very bottom floor of the main SUSU building, on the way to the old sports hall.
The club gets started for the academic year in the first week of term. This means that the first Tuesday session for those who already have some judo experience will be on October 2nd at 8pm and the first of our Thursday beginner sessions will be on Thursday October 4th at the new slightly earlier time of 6pm. Details of the different sessions available are on the Training Times page.
The Membership page outlines the requirements for membership. Club membership is an annual fee with no per session fee, but you do need to have a Sport and Wellbeing membership because the Martial Arts Suite is managed by the Sport and Wellbeing department. Rates vary depending on whether you are a student, staff or external to the university.
For students that are new to Judo, we can offer introductory deals from British Judo that will get you started with insurance and a judo suit at a great price.

We look forward to seeing you at a session. Recommended clothing for your first few sessions is a strong long sleeved top that you don't mind being pulled around (an old sweatshirt is ideal), and shorts or sweatpants
