Research: Computational Methods
Within computing in science and engineering, Hans is particularly
interested in:
- Particle simulations using Monte-Carlo and Molecular Dynamics methods
- Finite difference, finite element and boundary element methods
- Multi-scale simulations
- Multi-physics simulations
- Computer simulations of nanodevices and physical processes including
magnetism, superconductivy, elasticity
- Finite element mesh generation
- Commodity cluster computing:
- Job distribution and scheduling in multi-CPU systems
- Algorithm development
- Visualisation
- Education in Computational Science
Hans is a staff member of the National Centre for Advanced Tribology and a member of the
European project COST P19 on
multi-scale modelling.
