M.Phil/PhD Research Programme

 
 

A PhD is considered to be the highest academic degree you can earn. It will qualify you to teach and carry out research at a university, or to work or lead research groups in industry, government or the public sector where a high level of advanced research expertise in a specialist area is required. Staff at the Centre have individual and combined capacity to supervise M.Phil and PhD research.

Doctorate of Education (EdD)

   
 

The Doctorate of Education (EdD) is a professional taught doctorate preparing leaders for academic, administrative or research positions in all phases of education, training, and health and caring professions in private, public and voluntary sector. It differs from the traditional PhD listed above in that instead of working primarily alone, your programme will include a substantial taught element and also allows you to develop depth in a specialism. Currently the EdD is offered around two pathways, leadership and autobiography.  Plan are underway to broaden the range of pathways on this prestigious award.

MA Institutional Management and Leadership for professional development

 
 

The IML is designed to provide you with the knowledge and understanding to manage and lead change in both national and international contexts. MSc in Education Practice and Innovation

   
 

This unique programme will appeal to a broad spectrum of teachers and educational practitioners across the educational sectors but particularly at the post-compulsory level in HE, FE and adult and work-based education. The central theme of the course is the focus on educational innovation. There are two broad strands covered: i) policy and practice and ii) research and theoretical perspectives.
