5.0 Practicals Timetable

The first week's practical is:

BASIC microscopy - designed  for non Biologists (or those with a short memory)

For this group sign up for

EITHER


(For those who have already taken a background course which included Immunology)

A   Basic microscopy  Session 1 the next day (Week 1  first Tuesday) practical slot from 9.00 a.m. Lab 4W

(45 students)

OR

(For those who need an  Immunology basics lecture 9.00-11.45 a.m. Tuesday given by Myron Christodoulides)

 

An Immunology Primer followed by Basic microscopy  Session 2  from 10.30 - 11.45 Lab 4W

 

ALL OTHER PRACTICALS WILL BE SPLIT INTO ALPHABETIC GROUPS A and B

* Identify your demonstrator here who you will stay with throughout the course.



Weeks  2  and 3  Phase Contrast  Microscopy in 4W  
 

Weeks  4  and 5  Practicals 3A and 3B : Bacteriology


Weeks  6 and 7   Practical 4A and 4B : Trypanosomes practicals in 4W

Weeks 8 and 9    Practical 5A and 5B Tapeworms practicals

Week 10               Practical 6 : Fasciola (Liver fluke) and Tapeworms practical  

 

Practical Test 16th May  (See your timetable for location)

Bring Your Student ID Card and sign the register.

You need to arrive at 8.50 a.m. 10 mins before the test  to avoid delay and ensure

you are logged on and with Blackboard open at Course documents.

A link that will appear there will become live at 9.00 a.m and allow you to access test .

There will be 40 questions and the test will last 40 minutes.

For special needs students the test lasts 60 mins.

 

 

NB There will be a 10% deduction from your  final mark  in each case  where any

practical has been missed  including the Phase Contrast microscopy training practicals

(non attendance on register).

Only students with medical notes will be excused.
