Family Banding Back
The idea of 'Family Banding' is to get groups of parents together which live in colour coded (rainbow colours) sectors which lead to their local primary school: Parent and Children (Student) Networking. They could compete for the most children walking on their route.
Parents would identify each other through a colour coded noticeboard and work together to organise routes including: parents walking with groups, children walking alone and car pooling. The routes would be called 'Rainbow Routes'.
If started at the primary school level with an intake cohort the 'Family banding' would continue to have social and environmental benefits throughout the school years and possibly beyond.
The objectives would be that:
Children would get to school safely
Less cars would be used.
Children would get regular exercise
Younger children would gain friends throughout the school.
There would be a positive affect on bullying since bullying continues out of school and having friends in other years would be helpful.
