How do I apply?

Apply online at www.ucas.com, the website for UCAS, the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service:

For some courses, you need to request an application form directly from the Academic Unit. These include:

If you are in any doubt about how you should apply, please check the relevant course pages for details. You will also find detailed course information in your prospectus.

When should I apply?

You should apply between 1 September 2011 and 15 January 2012 if you are from the UK or EU. If you are an international (non-EU) student you can apply from 1 September 2011 until 30 June 2012. These dates apply for all courses apart from Medicine, for which the closing date is 15 October 2011.

What happens next?

UCAS will send you an acknowledgement and forward your application to the University. The Admissions Tutor and others in the Academic School you have chosen will consider your application carefully. You should hear back from us in about six weeks.

What about interviews?

Some Academic Schools interview most applicants as part of the selection process, some interview only a few, and others don't interview at all. Whatever the subject, if you are offered a place, you will be invited to visit us before you make your final decision.

If the selection process for your course does not include an interview, then your personal statement will be even more important.

What if I take a gap year?

Applications for deferred entry will be considered in the normal way, but for entry in 2012 the conditions of any offer must be met in the summer of 2011.
