Bachelor of Medicine European BM(EU)

Overview

The five year Bachelor of Medicine European is offered by the University of Southampton in partnership with the Gesundeit Nordhessen Holding (GNH) in Germany.

The first two years of the course are completed in the UK with further visits to the UK to attend examinations at certain points during years 3 to 5.

Those who are not British Citizens or Irish nationals must have an appropriate visa or immigration permission for study in the UK.  The visa type required depends on the length and purpose of the visit. 
 
Before beginning their studies, students must upload identity and immigration documents and complete a 'right to study' check following the steps on the Welcome website.

Visa requirements

The first two years of the course are spent on campus at the University of Southampton in the UK.

For this period of study, students will need to apply for a Student visa from outside the UK unless they hold immigration permission in another category, which may include Settled/Pre-settled Status under the EU Settlement Scheme.

When students are unconditional accepted on their chosen programme of study, they will automatically receive a link to complete a CAS questionnaire.  Once this has been completed and returned, it will be processed and the University will issue a CAS number.

Please note that students who enter the UK on a Standard visit visa will be unable to switch into the Student visa from inside the UK.

Please also note that you should not apply for a Student visa as a postgraduate doctor/dentist.
