Honorary Graduand Information
Each year in the autumn Facultiess are asked to nominate worthy people to be included for the VC, Registrar and Chief Operation Officer and the Awards Committee to consider for an Honorary Degree. The University of Southampton usually invites around 4 people each year to have an Honorary Degree bestowed upon them.
In accepting this award the Honorary Graduand, with the Graduation Team, chooses the most appropriate ceremony for the award to take place. This may not be the most appropriate Faculty, but consideration is given to the Honorary Graduand being able to find a time and date for their ceremony in their calendar. The VC will also notify the Graduation Team of the appointed Honorary Graduand Host.

The Honorary Graduand schedule of ceremonies will be published each year in the Spring.
