Closure of ‘upper’ Salisbury Road
The end of Salisbury Road adjacent to the Mountbatten and Zepler Buildings will remain closed for the foreseeable future to all vehicles other than those of contractor/demolition staff.
It is important for health and safety reasons that the flow of both traffic and pedestrians in that location is kept to an absolute minimum. A ‘Road Ahead Closed’ sign is being placed at the junction of Salisbury Road and University Road to prevent through traffic from using the road. However, cars and buses using the Nuffield and Gower car parks can still access these from the lower end of Salisbury Road.
We understand that some drivers will be inconvenienced by this closure and although regrettable, it is necessary.
