English bibliographic databases

Some of the links here are to full text sources. Others are to indexes and abstracting services which help you find references to journal articles and book chapters in English Studies.

To get the full text of a reference from one of these:-

  • If there is a full-text link from the database, try it.
  • If there is not, or if the link doesn't work, search WebCat (login to WebCat with your staff/student number and library PIN to make the weblinks live).

On WebCat:-

  • Search for journal articles by the journal title (use full title, not abbreviations).
  • Search for book chapters by the book title (or use a combination author/title search - usually faster).
