The scholarships are in memory of Karim Rida Said and since their introduction in 1984 they have enabled more than 400 young people to gain a university education overseas and to contribute to the development of the Middle East region.
The Karim Rida Said Foundation scholarships are to study a master's degree in the UK. Scholarships range from partial support to full fees and a maintenance allowance.
To apply for a Karim Rida Said Foundation Scholarship at Southampton you must:
- have a good first degree
- provide evidence of your English language ability
- be under forty years of age
- be Iraqi, Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian or Syrian and resident in the Middle East
- be able to demonstrate that your chose Masters degree will be of use to the development of your home country or the Middle East region
- have at least two years' work experience
- hold an offer for a University of Southampton Masters degree
- sign a binding agreement to return to your home country or another of the Foundation's target countries
Applications for the Scholarship are made direct to the Foundation and not to the University of Southampton. For application forms and further information please refer to the scholarships section of the KRSF website.
