In November 2003 the Prime Minister launched the Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate Awards Scheme(DHPA). The scheme is a UK initiative to bring outstanding students from India, China, Hong Kong, South Africa, Brazil, Russia and the developing world to study for PhDs in top rated UK research facilities.
DHPA awards to Universities for scholars commencing 1 October 2010 have now been finalised. The University of Southampton received one award which has now been filled. The next competition for DHPA scholars commencing 1 October 2011 will be advertised on the DHPA website: http://www.rcuk.ac.uk/hodgkin/dorothy.htm early 2011. A listing of Universities receiving 2010 DHPA awards should also appear on the DHPA website in due course.
