These dates and times are important and we suggest that you print them off and keep them safe or put them in your calendar.

NB Always remember to update the Graduation Team if you change your email address or mobile number as the Graduation Team needs to stay in contact with you right up until your ceremony date.  This is especially important if you change from a Southampton University email address to a home or work email address.

 

Dates and times of ceremonies:

The days of December graduation are 13 and 14 December 2011.

Morning ceremonies are held at 10am and 12.00noon.

Afternoon ceremonies are held at 2.15pm and 4.15pm.

Graduation ceremonies are held in the Turner Sims Concert Hall during December.

NB. If yours is the 4.15pm ceremony please come early to participate fully in all facilities on offer, allowing time for official photographs before your ceremony.

Deadline dates for December graduation: 

  • Applications open online: 1 October
  • Application deadline: 31 October
  • Final awards date for graduation in December: 21 November 2011
  • If you wish to inform the Graduation Team of yourself or your guests with any additional health requirements/disability/blue badge holder  (mobility, visual, hearing, unseen health concern, late stage pregnancy, broken bones etc) the deadline is the application closing date: 31 October. 
  • If you wish to graduate in-absentia, that is to not attend your ceremony and your name not published in the ceremonial programme, the Graduation Team would still like to hear from you by: 31 October.
  • If the Graduation Team has not heard from you by the application deadline you will automatically be deemed to graduate in-absentia.
  • All outstanding debts should be paid by the end of October and at the latest the first Friday in November. 

Provisional dates for future December ceremonies:

These dates are for your information but have yet to be finally confirmed by Senate.  Confirmation occurs annually in January.

18 – 20 December 2012

17 – 19 December 2013

16 – 18 December 2014
