Research Group: Quantitative Methodologies Special Interest Group

Currently Active:
Yes

The aim of this research group is to encourage and support the use of quantitative methodologies in the Southampton Education School here in Southampton.

In particular, we are interested in:

  1. helping researchers who have limited experience to effectively integrate quantitative methodologies in the design, collection, and analysis of their research projects
  2. actively encouraging experienced researchers to engage with more advanced quantitative analysis tools, and
  3. providing a forum for researchers to present work in progress and to receive comments and support from colleagues.

Each year we organise three or four seminars/workshops on various methods. These will range from sessions for inexperienced researchers to sessions on advanced statistical processes. We also organise forums where staff can present (quantitative-based) research proposals and papers in progress for feedback and discussion. All members of staff and PhD students are welcome to be involved.

Convenor: John Schulz.
