The University of Southampton and the Community
Southampton is one of the safest cities in the UK in which to live, work and study and we want to keep it that way. Read our Good Neighbours policy.
Our relationships with residents in the local neighbourhood are very important to us and we maintain close links with local residents' associations, community groups, the police and other agencies.
We want to maximise the benefits of the University of Southampton to the local community and minimise the disruptions that come with having a University on your doorstep.
We recognise that, as a large organisation, occupying a number of sites and with many thousands of staff and students, we have a significant impact upon our local neighbourhood. We are committed to acting as a good neighbour and ensuring that as far as possible our activities are undertaken with due consideration for local residents.
To find out more about what's happening in our neighbourhood, read our seasonal publication, Neighbourhood News.
Please contact Matt Martin, the University’s Community Relations Officer, if you have any thoughts, concerns, news and feedback regarding the University and the community.
