The course
The course will normally take place in the 2 weeks prior to an IELTS test at the University of Southampton IELTS Test Centre. It will consist of 6 classes, each 2 hours in length, totalling 12 hours in all.
Aim
To train you in the techniques necessary in order to perform to the best of your ability in the IELTS exam.
Course content
Intensive practice in examination techniques and advice on how to prepare for the IELTS Test day. All four skills will be addressed, listening, reading, speaking and writing. We will concentrate on the Academic module, but General Training candidates will also benefit. There will be practice tests and plenty of homework.
Get Ready for IELTS: ONLINE
There is now an online learning environment to support the ‘Get Ready for IELTS’ course. You can access IELTS learning materials, a student chat room and discussion forum a week before the course begins or when you have registered for the course and provided us with your name and email address. You will then be sent an email containing instructions for accessing Get Ready for IELTS online and your own username and password. We look forward to meeting you online before the course starts!
The lessons will take place on the Monday, Wednesday and Thursday of the 2 weeks. When the Monday is a Bank Holiday, the class will move to the Tuesday.
Times of classes: begin at 6pm and finish at 8pm
