Here are four academics explaining their views on global citizenship. Watch each video and think about:
• The speakers’ main argument.
• Their understanding of global citizenship.
• Any economic social or political changes proposed.
• The implications of these changes.
• The limitations or contradictions of their perspectives.

Dr Vandana Shiva is a physicist, ecologist, activist, editor, and author of many books. She directs the Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Natural Resource Policy. Her most recent books are Biopiracy: The Plunder of Nature and Knowledge and Stolen Harvest: The Hijacking of the Global Food Supply.
Simon Tormey is a Professor of Politics and Critical Theory at the University of Nottingham. He teaches political theory, theories of modernity, classical anarchism, globalization and resistance and has published widely in all of these fields. His most recent books are: Anti-capitalism: A Beginner’s Guide and Key Thinkers from Critical Theory to Post-Marxism.
Dennis Banda is an academic from Zambia. He is currently based at the Unesco Centre for Comparative Education Research where he is looking into the value and contribution of 'indigenous knowledge systems' (IKS) to the achievement of the 'Education for all' goals set by the UN.
Dr April Biccum is a lecturer at School of Politics and International Relations at Lancaster University. Her current work focusses on post-colonial theory and issues of race, representation, gender, resistance and proposed alternatives to contemporary modes of global governance.
