Aims
The aims of this learning activity are to explore and explain the level of young people's political participation on campus and in electoral politics.
While carrying out this activity you will:
- discover how you can participate in your own college or university
- reflect on why student participation on campus tends to be relatively low
- draw on a range of evidence to evaluate different explanations for the low levels of voting by young people in general elections

Having completed this activity you should be able to:
- explain how students can participate in decision making on campus.
- judge between competing explanations of young people's disengagement with the political system.
